The political competition is not always healthy. It can have some adverse effects like :

(a) It sometimes creates disunity which later divides localities and communities.

(b) Very often leaders of different political parties put on allegations against one another which lead to mutual conflict.

(c) In order to win elections political leaders use dirty tricks and illegal methods which are harmful for the successful working of democracy.

(d) Not only this, sometimes it leads to factions within political party and encourage defection.
