Answer:

No one can control earth quake or predict earth quake in any parts of the world. It is a natural phenomena governed by geotechnical principles of Earth, Solar System and the Universe. Government can survey the sensitive areas of a country and demarcate them as per the sensitivity of the soil to different kinds of construction. Government can debare construction in extreme sensitive areas like slopes and river valley of Himalayan region. The Government can ban setting up of multi storeyed buildings on river slopes in earthquake sensitive zones. Heavy industries are allowed in stable areas of India. Fault zones are identified and strong constructions are avoided in those areas. large dams are not allowed along sensitive zones and fault zones. Some areas like north east are prone to regular tremor. Major constructions are done with sufficient precautionary measure. Land slide prone areas are dealt with maximum care . Rainy season is most difficult season in land slide areas. Government has to be strict on all kinds of construction activities in earthquake prone areas like Himachal, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalay, MIzoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal , Jammu and Kashmir.
