"The Mysore plateau one of the chorographically unique region of the Karnataka state which is also known as south Karnataka plateau.

The Mysore plateau has many oscillations and it is enclosed by Western Ghats in the south and west side. The utmost section of the river Kaveri proceeds inside the Mysore plateau.

The Mysore plateau consists of the following districts such as Bangalore, Bangalore rural, Hasan town, Kolar, Kodagu, Tumkur and Mysore. The Mysore plateau is about 1,89,000 square miles and has an elevation of about 800 meters.

The plateau mainly consists of granite, schists, volcanic rocks and copper, bauxite are mined from this plateau. This plateau also contains the highest water falls known as Jog falls.  

The major crops of this plateau are peanuts, coconuts, tobacco, rice, sugar cane and coffee. Textile manufacturing and tobacco processing is the two main industries in this plateau."
