Hi..
There are mainly two tyoes of reproduction
1)Sexual reproduction
2)Asexual reproduction..
Sexual reproduction is the type of reproduction in which 2 parents are involved i.e male and female gametes fuse to form the zygote ..Here the progeny has variations and is diploid ..
Asexual reproduction is the type in which only one parent is involved in the process..
The parent organism either loses its identity like binary fission in amoeba...or it retains its identity as in budding in hydra..
There are many types of asexual reproduction like binary fission,budding,fragmentation,spore formation..

a) sexual reproduction..
in this both both male and female gaments are involved...
formation of xygote take place...
the new indivisual is not similar to parents
ex_ animals....humans, ruminants in
plant.... fruits and vegetables
b) asexual reproduction
in this only one parent is involved..
formation of xygote is not involved...
new individual is similar to parents..
eg_ animals...amoeba
plants.. Spirogyra.. yeast..
