Ovary is the female gonad and uterus is the reproductive organ in females ..
Ovary releases egg every 28-30 days and if it gets fertilized then the zygote gets embedded in the uterus which prepares its walls or intra uterine wall..which has direct supply of blood which gives nourishment to the developing embryo ..

If the fertilization doesnt occurs the ..uterine wall which was prepared to receive the zygote sheds of ..in the form if blood ..This cycle called menstruation occurs every 28 days if there is no fertilization..
