What are the ways in which resources can be used judiciously

We can use our natural resources judiciously by getting those who play politics by employing politically correct jargon as a substitute for real wise use on the ground management practices out of the way.
Basically we need to throw out most of the environmental regulations passed in the last 40 years and allow the sustainable harvest of trees, coal, fish, minerals, oil and natural gas to be produced by responsible advocates who actually work the land. This includes managing our dams and rivers to provide irrigation water, support agribusiness crop production, land improvements and such.
Generally speaking however, we aren't doing too bad a job regarding the natural resources themselves. It's all of the graft being raked off the top by the rabble rousers seeking support for their dubious causes like global warming, ozone hole protection, tiny shellfish and the like which are responsible for most of our lower living standards. Their goal is to reduce the human population by about 98%, then we'd have little need to conserve natural resources.
