The Upanishads is a part of the sacred Hindu Texts, The Vedas. It contains some of the central philosophical concepts and ideas of Hinduism, some of which are shared with Buddhism, and Jainism.

The Aranyakas constitutes of the philosophy behind ritual sacrifice of the ancient Indian sacred texts, the Vedas. They typically represent the earlier sections of Vedas, and are one of many layers of the Vedic texts.
