Adolescent substance abuse refers to taking drugs, alcohol, marijuana, smoking etc. Adolescence is that stage of an individual when he / she had just left their childhood years and stepped into adulthood after the onset of puberty.

During that time our body and mind are vulnerable to many things. We are filled with aggression and the urge to explore everything.

Hormonal changes are mainly the contributory factor that makes us face new challenges. If not guided or counseled properly it could impact badly on the individual's mind later on.
