There are following criterion we can decide whether something is alive or living by using the following characteristic of the living things.

  • living things can move by themselves
  • living things need food air and water
  • living things can grow
  • living things can respond to change around them they are sensitive
  • living things respire to release energy from food.
  • living things excrete.
  • living things can reproduce they can have young one.
