what determine the extent of sharing of power between the union and state government?
Answers
Various lists of power separated in the constitution defines the extent of authority between the Union and the State.
1. The union list includes matters of national concern such as defense, banking, communication, currency, and foreign affairs etc. And that the union government can itself make laws in favor of any of the subject mentioned in the Union list.
2. The state list, on the other hand, includes matters that are of state and local concerns such as trade, police, agriculture and commerce etc. And a state has the authority of making laws in favor of the subjects mentioned in the State list.
3. The concurrent list is another important factor that determines the extent of power-sharing between state and union because this list includes subjects or matters that are concerned to both the union and the state such as forests, education, marriage, etc.
