Because at that night the hailstorm had destroyed the crop of Lencho , that means spoil the hard work of Lencho . It left nothing . Lencho's soul was full with sadness because he had nothing to feed the family and he thought his family would starve whole year .

Hailstones destroyed all the crops of Lencho's fields. He became sorrowful. He could not sleep all through the night, he could only think of his one hope – the help of God. So the next Sunday, he wrote a letter to God and asked for a hundred pesos to prevent his family from starving that year.
