Mowed and relatively litter free Right-Of-Way (ROW).
Good guide signs to tell you how to get from the road you're on to the one you want to get on, well in advance of the exit or intersection and at the intersection.
Good bright center line and other lane markings.
Historical markers with advance signing and a proper pull out to stop and read them if you so choose.
Interesting sights and terrain on adjacent property.
Wild flowers in the ROW.
Wide shoulders and good sight distance.
Roadway lighting at intersections and in merging areas.
No construction zones.
Last but not least, smooth roads which is really hard and expensive and requires frequent construction with lane closures.
