The Turtle Festival attracted crowds to the coastline. The tourist were accumulated in the homes of villagers . A Turtle Friends Club was established in each village, the members being all the villagers offering homestay. All villagers would now offer the same rate for home stay. They gave 10% of their income to the Turtle Protection Fund. This fund would be utilised for protection and conservation of turtles.
