The satellite data of tropospheric pollution shows that there has been a rise of nitrogen dioxide level over India and China. The IITM or Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology scientists say that the increase in NO2 which is a greenhouse gas is due to economic activities. Emission from power plants and vehicles, lightning and forest fire are some of the sources of nitrogen dioxide. In India the main reason for rise in nitrogen dioxide is the emission from vehicles.
