Define with examples-phototrophism,geotropism,hydrotropism,chemotropism & thigmotropism. ... The movement of plant towards or away from chemicals is called chemotropism. Eg - Growth of pollen tubes towards ovules. Thigmotropism is a movement in which an organism moves or grows in response to touch or contact stimuli.

Chemotropism :- Movement of the plant part in response to chemical stimulus is known as Chemotropism.
Ex:- During the process of fertilisation in plants. The pollen tube grows towards the ovule in the ovary in response to the chemical secreted by the ovary.
Geotropism :- Movement of the plant part in response to gravity stimulus is known as Geotropism.
Ex :- movement of roots deep in the ground is geotropism
