Nylon 6 or polycaprolactam is a polymer developed by Paul Schlack at IG Farben to reproduce the properties of nylon 6,6 without violating the patent on its production. It is a semicrystalline polyamide.
Chemical formula: (C6H11NO)n
Melting point: 493 K (220 °C)
Nylon 66 is made of two monomers each containing 6 carbon atoms, hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid, which give nylon 66 its name. Wikipedia
Formula: (C12H22N2O2)n
Bakelite, or polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride, is the first plastic made from synthetic components. It is a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin, formed from a condensation reaction of phenol with formaldehyde.
Formula: (C6-H6-O.C-H2-O)x
