The faith and belief system of the Harappans are as follows:

Seals representing a male figure in the form of yogi, a figure like a Mother Goddess and a  peepal tree tell us a little about the faith of the people of Indus valley civilization. They may have worshipped Pasupathi an early form of Shiva and Mother Goddess (terracotta figurine) . A male figure in the form of yogi has three faces and two horns and it is surrounded by four animals elephant, tiger and buffalo each facing a different direction and two deer on his feet. They used to worship trees and animals also. Harappan people believed in Ghost and evil forces. Evidences of burial practices has been found at the same entries at Harappa, Mohenjodaro and Lothal. They buried dead people wearing ornaments and with a few pots.

Explanation:

ADVERTISEMENTS: Religion is a system of faith and worship; it is based on human recognition of a super-human controlling power, especially of a God or gods, entitled to obedience. The Harappan people were deeply religious, as their seals and bronze and clay images make it amply clear. ... They also worshipped Lord Shiva.
