Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
===============================
Balanced Forces :
===================
If the resultant of all the Forces acting on a body is zero, then the forces are called balanced Forces.
( Have a look at the figure 1 )
For understanding of balanced Forces let's perform the following activity ,
♣ Take a smooth wooden block having side hooks. place it over a smooth table. Now, tie two strong strings with the side hooks. you pull this wooden block towards right side and ask your friend to pull this wooden block towards left side.
When you and your friend pull the wooden block with equal forces the block will not move at all. In this case, Forces F1 and F2 are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction and net force on the wooden block is 0.
Example of balanced Force :
==============================
◆ In a Tug of war, Two Teams pull a rope in opposite direction. If the rope does not move in any directions, then the forces applied by both the teams are known balanced Forces.

Unbalanced Forces :
=====================
If the resultant of all the forces acting on a body is not Zero, then forces are called Unbalanced Forces.
( Follow the Figure 2 ),
Take a spring balance having side hooks. place it over a smooth table . Now tie two strong strings with the side hooks. pass these threads over two pulleys moving freely attached to the edges of the table.
Now, attach two weights of unequal magnitudes with the free ends of the thread. It is observed that the spring balance moves in the direction of heavy weight.
The net force acting on the object is equal to the difference between these two unequal forces. i.e, net force acting on the block , F= F2-F1. This net force acting on the object is called Unbalanced Forces.
Examples of Unbalanced Forces :
===============================
◆ A bicycle will slow down if the rider stop pedalling it. because, a force of friction between the tyres of the bicycle and the road acting in the direction opposite to the direction of motion of the bicycle opposes the motion of the bicycle. To keep the bicycle in motion , an Unbalanced Force has to be applied on it.
