FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS A TYPE OF GOVERNMENT IN WHICH THERE ARE TWO OR MORE LEVELS (OR TIERS) OF GOVERNMENT.

The federal structure is a structure where the power of the government is not vested in single government but divided into central state and local government bodies.

When the constitution was formed it was decided to create central and state government structure in India and it was taken from Canada.
