Fundamental unit is the one which do not depend on any other quantities.
Ex. Luminous intensity, temperature, time.

Derived quantities are those which depend on other quantities.
Ex. Velocity ( it depends time)
Area(it depends on length)

Answer:FUNDAMENTAL UNIT - a fundamental unit is that which is independent of any other unit or which can neither be change nor can be related to any other fundamental unit. example - mass , length , time , temperature , current. DERIVED UNIT - derived unit are those unit which depend on fundamental unit or which can be expressed in terms of the fundamental units. Example - for the measurement of area , we need to measure length and breadth in the unit of length and then express area in a unit which is length*length*length
