The two essential conditions of rusting iron are the presence of oxygen, and the presence of water whose PH level is slightly acidic. Grease coating can be given t prevent the iron from rusting as it blocks the oxygen and water to get in contact with the metal. Galvanization can also be done. 4.5. 57 votes.
