Uni + sexual = unisexual. Uni means one. The plants may have one sex either male or female. It may be monoecious . I may have only make flowers either a female one. For example : Birch, tapioca, cucumber, papaya etc. The flowers in these plants contain either female or male reproductive parts. Basically the flowers which contain either the pistil or the stamens are called unisexual flowers.
