For example, every individual has right to freedom of speech. This law has a principle that every individual's freedom should be respected.
If there is a law like government will check the information which is passed on from one individual to other, this means that government does not respect freedom of individual and want to curb their freedom to speak. This means that state runs on authoritarian principle.
