\mathfrak{The\:Answer\:is}

Old Kasper was an old man with two grandchildren. He lives in his cottage and is a viction of the war at Blenheim.

Old Kasper is in a solemn mood. He explains the causes of the war with a question in it. He remains short in his description and this increases curiosity in the children.This indeed helps in foewading the poem and old kasper goes to explain the disadvantages of war in an indirect manner.

Answer:

Character sketch of Old Kasper:

Kasper was a farmer. He was loving grandfather as he spent time with his grandchildren and tried to answer their queries. Kasper was an old man, who was disappointed with the outcome of the war. However, he was complacent about the cause of war and had accepted  the loss of innocent lives as the inevitable price of victory in the war.

As kasper had finished his work and was taking rest, he was in a relaxing mood.
