Solution :-

A writ is a legal document written by a judge or other body with administrative or judicial jurisdiction, such as a court, that orders the person to whom it is addressed to perform or cease performing a special action.

Warrants, Prerogative Writ and Subpoenas are some of the common types of writs but many forms exist and have existed. Under the Indian legal system, jurisdiction to issue prerogative writs is given to the Supreme Court, and to the High Courts of Judicature of all Indian states.

The Indian Constitution broadly provides for five kinds of prerogative writs. These are Habeas Corpus, Certiorari, Mandamus, Quo Warranto and Prohibition.
