hey mate
its not multiple reflection of light.
its called as internal reflection or tir
so when a light ray enter to object if its incident ray creates 90 degree angle with plane of reflections its called a internal reflection...
i hope u understood!!

When light falls on an object, some of it bounces off the object. The bouncing off of light at a surface is called reflection. All surfaces reflect light. How well a surface reflects light depends upon the nature of the surface. Shiny, smooth surfaces such as a mirror reflect light better than dull, rough surfaces such as a wall or a sheet of paper.

When a beam of light falls on a smooth surface, the rays of the beam are reflected in a particular direction and remain parallel to each other. This is known as regular reflection. Since the rays are reflected in an orderly fashion, the image ::::::::

When a beam strikes an uneven surface, its rays are reflected in different directions. This is called diffuse reflection or irregular reflection. Since the reflected rays get diffused, or spread, in different directions, we see a hazy image or no image at all.
Reflection from a plane mirror is an example of regular reflection. A mirror is made by coating a thin layer of aluminium or silver at the back of a glass sheet. The layer of metal is extremely smooth and forms the reflecting surface of the mirror. The smooth surface ensures that the light falling on it undergoes regular reflection. That is why you see a clear, bright image of an object in a mirror.
Apart from mirrors, images are formed by shiny surfaces like those of metal utensils. Since the surface of a utensil is not as smooth as that of a mirror, the rays reflected from its surface get diffused (Figure 12.2). Therefore, the image formed is not as clear and bright as that formed by a mirror. Also, as the surface of a utensil gets scratched with use, the reflections from its surface get more diffused. So, the image formed gets hazier.
