                TENSILE STRENTH

Tensile strengths is loosely the amount of force that is required to pull something until it can either break completly or deform (or permanently change its shape).

There are three  types of these Tensile strength,

  1. Yield strength - maximum amount of force the object can handle before it deforms. Anything after leads to deformation.
  2. Ultimate strength - as the name suggests the maximum amount of force an object can handle whilst it is being pulled or stretched before it breaks apart or ‘rips’.
  3. Breaking strength - the force requires to break or ‘pull apart’ an object.
