                                 Factors Producing Good Manners

Bill Kelly has rightly and wisely said, “Good manners are just a way of showing other people that we have respect for them.” Undoubtedly good manners are appreciated by all. They are the hallmark of a civilized, refined and learned character. As there is cause behind every effect, so behind good manners are certain factors.

1.Heredity: Heredity is a key factor in determining good manners. A child whose parents are good mannered, will inherit behavioral values from his parents.

2.Environment: The second most important factor that influences our manners is the environment we live in. if we have well-mannered family members, we will naturally learn from them good manners. If on the other hand we have ill mannered family members, we will tend to be ill-mannered.

3.Education: Education is another key factor in determining our manners. If we get good education, we will have good manners instilled in us through great teachers and books.

4. Reading Habit: If a person has the habit of reading good books, he will surely develop good manners.

Apart from the above mentioned factors, there are many other factors such as friends, colleagues, inner strength, our aspiration and general outlook, etc. that affect our manners.
