What factors resulted in growing opposition to British rule?

▪ The end of First World War, rising inflation and forced recruitment for the Colonial Army were major causes of dissent in the years leading to 1920.

▪Throughout the 1920s, international recession (leading up to the Great Depression) had taken its toll on Indian agriculture and protests against the Simon Commission intensified in 1928.

▪The First World War had been fought on the principle of equality but however the same was denied to India.

Hope it helps !
