The poet starts crying at the loss of beauty by seeing her own image in the mirror. As she us upset to see her signs of aging and advancement of her age, she starts to cry.
The poetic device compared here is the mirror. The mirror is compared with that of a lake because of the memories of life, flashing on to a person when he looks both at the mirror and at the lake.
They both seem to reflect true images.
