what happen when the molecules of water evaporate from the crystals ?

molecules of water gives colour to a crystal...it depends on the number of molecules present...when water molecules gets evaporated..crystal looses its colour and become colourless...

Example...
CuSO4.5H20 is a hydrated salt which contains 5 water of crystallisation and have Blue colour...

When CuSO4.5H20 is heated it looses its water of crystallisation become Anhydrous salt ( CuSo4)

which is colourless( just a white powder )..
