GANDHIJI had placed eleven demands before the British visory Lord irvin but the British had not responded to his demands. Then GANDHIJI launched the civil disobedience movement to brake the salt law. GANDHIJI had walked nearly about 400 km from his sabarmati ashram to dandi on foot. he collected a hand full of salt from the sea shore and distributed to the people around him thus the salt law was broken and GANDHI ji was arrested. But this agitation did not sudscide the movement spread rapidly over the country. The British had no other choice than leaving GANDHI.
