She had dark coloured exterior with a body of yellow colour which was merely visible when she disappeared behind the leaves which were yellow.   • In the poem The Laburnum Top written by Ted Hughes the Laburnum tree whose tip was quiet and low. Its leaves had bent yellow and seeds had fallen over. It was daylight in September month during which the tree was standing restful and death-like.

  • The lifeless tree became alive by the appearance of the Goldfinch bird who had come to feed her younger ones and they were on the density of the branch. The tree was their shelter. She comes at the end of the branch with a chirping pitch. She also shifts to the other side of the branch with immediate and precautionary motion like a lizard. As shortly as she reaches, her younger ones started chirping like a machine and trembling and fluttering their wings. The death-like tree comes to be alive and it flutters and vibrates.
