what happens chemically when quicklime is added to to water filled in a bucket?

to produce slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) releasing a large amount of heat.

quicklime is calcium oxide
when it is added to water it forms calcium hydroxide (also known as slaked lime)
it gives a white color and is exothermic
CaO+H2O--->Ca(OH)2+Δ
