The Loop of Henle is responsible for water re-absorption into the blood stream. Water moves out of the Loop of Henle into the surrounding blood vessels via osmosis. This helps to control the osmolarity of the blood. If re-absorption of water does not take place in the Loop of Henle, then the urine which is formed, will be very dilute. If this continues to happen, the organism will become dehydrated due to excess water loss through urination.
