non metallic oxide such as CO2 doesn'treact with a base as it itself is a base

blazegreninja54349: sorry i thought it wrong non metallic oxides do react with acid to form salt and hydrogen gas
blazegreninja54349: CO2+2NaOH->Na2CO3+H20
blazegreninja54349: and sorrrrrrrrrrrrry once more as i had told that hydrogen gas is formed instead of water

Non-Metallic oxides react with bases to give salts and water. Here metal in base reacts with carbon dioxide to form a salt. Hydrogen adds with oxygen in non- metal oxide to form water. This is similar to neutralisation reaction so non metallic oxides are acidic in nature.

chughjannat: Thank u so much
blazegreninja54349: hey how are non metallic oxide acidic in nature
blazegreninja54349: it is basic in nature
blazegreninja54349: and base +base gives no reaction
blazegreninja54349: sorrrrrrry lost the momentum
