When concentrated sulphuric acid is mixed with sodium chloride, it results in the formation of sodium bisulphate and the HCL gas. The moist blue litmus turns red because HCL gas is acidic in nature. In the first reaction, acidic salt is obtained while in the second reaction, neutral salt is obtained.
