hey dear....!!!

When sodium was heated and put into a jar full of oxygen it generates a lot of heat energy and light, when thereaction was over sodium oxide (Na2O) was left. The white powder in the jar was sodium oxide after thereaction between sodium and oxygen.

sodium reacts with oxygen producing a lot of heat and light after the reaction is over, sodium oxide will be left.
sodium(S) + Oxygen (O2) --> Sodium oxide (Na2O).
