A desert is a flat area covered by loose sand.It has a great scaricity of water and also an extremely hot climate.
Hot and dry winds blow here which ahift the sand and form sand dunes.
There are very few streams in deserts.These too mostly remain dry.At some places underground water come to the surface.These places are called oasis.Date palms grow here.The land around an oasis is fertile.Many of the villages are situated near oasis.
The desert region remains hot and dry throughout the yeat.There is very little or almost no rainfall.During tge rainy season the days are very hot and the nights are cool. During the winter season the days are warm and nights are extremely cool.
Examples of deserts are Gobi desert,Thar desert ,Sahara desert,etc.
