A herbarium is a collection of preserved plant specimens and associated data used for scientific study.[1] The term can also refer to the building or room where the specimens are housed, or to the scientific institute that not only stores but uses them for research.

☛ In herbarium plants and preserved on a thick paper or cardboard sheet of size 29 × 41.5 cm .

☛ A printed label is attached on the lower right corner of herbarium sheets.

☛ It contain informations like name of the institute , Scientific name, common name of plant, family, locality, date of collection, collection number and name of the collector .

☛ The Specimens that are mounted, labelled and treated are kept in herbarium cabinets that are pest free and dust proof
