IN KERNEL, NUCLEUS AND ELECTRON ARE IN INNER ORBIT WHILE 8 ELECTRON CAN BE ACCOMODATED IN OUTER SHELL.
IT IS AN OCTATE WHICH HAVE 8 SIDE AND SO 8 ELECTRON OF OUTER MOST ORBIT CAN BE ARRANGED

In chemistry, atom of metal is consists of 2 parts: valence and kernel.
Valence consists of valence electrons, whereas kernel parts consists of nucleus and electrons except valence electrons.
