The contamination of air by harmful pollutants is called air pollution. It is increasing due to the burning of large amount of fuels and also due to massive deforestation. Its effects are:
1) Global warming
2) Acid rain
3) Ozone layer depletion

air pollution is an undesirable change in the physical, chemical, or biological characteristics of air.                                                                                                    major sources of air pollution are burning of forest fuels like coal and petroleum, automobiles, thermal power plants and industries.                                   effects                                                                                                                      air pollution affects the respiratory systems causing diseases such bronchitties, asthma, lung cancer, tuberculosis, and pneumonia.                                  burning of fossils fuel, realeases oxides of nitrogen and sulphur. these gases dissolve in rain to give acid rain.                                                                  regular breathing in the polluted air increases the incidence of alergies, cancer, and heart diseases.                                                                           it is increasing by smokes realeased by vehicles and factories.
