like a expression 2^5 in which 2 is base and 5 is index so it is a indice.

laws are
(1)=a^0=1
(2)=a^m×a^n=a^m+n
(3)=a^m÷a^n=a^m-n
(4)=a^-m=1/a^m
(5)=(a^m)^n=a^m×n
(6)=a^m/n=n root of a to the power m

Dear Maria,

● Index -
- Index of a number says how many times to use the number in a multiplication.
- It's generally written as superscript to the given number.

◆ Laws of indices -
There are 3 laws of indices.

1) Law of multiplication -
a^m × a^n = a^(m+n)

2) Law of division -
a^m ÷ a^n = a^(m-n)

3) Law of superindex -
(a^m)^n = a^(m×n)

Hope this helped you. Thanks for asking..
