The answers to the above questions (in my opinion are):

1. I would desist from touching jellyfish with bare hands as they sting, however out of curiosity to feel them in my hands and see them close up, I would try to touch them with protective wear such as gloves.
2. People who do not desist from chasing monsters are likely to be prone to danger. If one recognises the risk involved in the quest to discover monsters and restrains oneself from the cold and dark depths of the world, the mere curiosity would do no harm.
