Apartheid was a political and social system in South Africa while it was under white minority rule. This was in the 20th century from 1948 to 1994 . Racial segregation had been used for centuries but the new policy started in 1948 was stricter and more systematic. hope it helps.

Apartheid is a big inequality shown by the whites to the black people who lived in South Africa during 1948 to 1950s. The whites occupied the whites' kingdom and made superior to themselves. All the places are separated with whites and blacks. For example, church, private toilets, hotels, restaurants are all seperated with whites and blacks. After a long time, they announced the constitution and then they became free and lived together. So now there is no apartheid.
