Apical meristem is a type of meristmatic tissue .

Is is found at the root apex and shoot apex.

It appear early in the life of plant.

It responsible for formation of axillary bud and primary growth of of plant (growth in length).

As you see early plant grow only in length it is due to apical meristem.
