An object immersed in a fluid experiences an upward force or buoyancy. This force opposes the weight of the object. Buoyancy is also known as up thrust. The force of buoyancy is given as, F = Vρg, where V is the volume of the liquid displaced, ρ is the density of liquid and g is acceleration due to gravity.

Archimedes’ principle explains how ships can float, how kites and aero planes rise etc.

the object submerged in water fully or partially is equal to the weight of liquid displaced by it.
