ATOMIC RADII ...-----

=)The distance from the centre of nucleus to the outermost shell containing the electrons.

But it is difficult to determine exactly because :

• Atoms don't have a sharp or definite boundary.

• Not possible to isolate a single atom.

• Presence of surrounding atoms also affect the distribution of electrons.

• Atomic radius also changes in different bounded states like Ionic bond, Covalent bond.

The distance between nucleus and outer shell electron is generally refers as Atomic radii.

Also,

When we move left to right in modern periodic table atomic radii gradually decreases as because nuclear charge were increases also screening effect of electron increases but not much.

As from this we get that :-

Effective nuclear charge increase

Now,

What is effective nuclear charge ?

Nuclear charge - Screening effect

Note = There is no exception
