Bark is the outermost layer of the stem and roots of a woody plant. It protects the plant from losing water. It prevents infections by fungus and bacteria. Certain barks has the properties to work against parasites. Such as willow bark which has the ability to kill lower back pain, it acts as aspirin. In the same way, there is tree bark, todd's bark, etc.
