It is a region in spacetime( it is combition of three dimensional space and time as fourth dimension). In this region there is extremely strong gravitational pull. The pull is so strong that even light doesn't escape once it enters the black hole. The point where the pull is situated is called event horizon or point of no return since all matter gets trapped inside it due to extremely strong gravitational pull.

A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing—not even particles and electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from inside it. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass can deform spacetime to form a black hole. The boundary of the region from which no escape is possible is called the event horizon.
